I got to spend a couple of weeks reviewing the Logitech X300, and here’s my user review.

Hardware Overview

I got the Blue coloured speaker, which is a nice bright turquoise colour. Inside the box packaging, you find the speakers, a USB to microUSB cable and some basic user manual.

Hardware Overview of the Logitech X300

The surface of the Logitech X300 speaker is a rubbery material, that gives you a good grip in your hand, or when resting on a table, or any surface for that matter.

Looking really sporty and bright coloured, the Logitec X300 has its speaker grills all on the front that wraps to the side. It’s strategically positioned upwards and outwards to deliver expansive sound spectrum, with precise bass response and detailed mids and highs.

The controls are at the top, with 3 prominent buttons – Volume Up and Down, with the Bluetooth button in the middle – giving you one tap access to pair your device.

Power On/Off button, 3.5mm audio port and microUSB charging port is placed at the back. The back has a nice triangle shape which rests the speaker with it’s grille at an upward angle. This design, of course gives the audio a nice upward sound trajectory.

Sound Quality

Bluetooth pairing with my laptop

Pairing the Logitech X300 with my laptop (I was reviewing the Surface 3) was real easy. Tap on the giant Bluetooth button on the speakers and you’ll hear a series of sounds to signify the speaker is ready for pairing. You’ll also see a blinking light at the bottom of the Power On/Off button.

Streaming online radio

As I’m one who enjoys online radio streaming in the background when I work, I tuned to Mix.fm online streaming to test the Logitech X300.

The streaming volume on my laptop was at a max, but the speaker was not. And boy – was I startled. The sound coming from the speaker is really loud!

The Logitech X300 produced such loud sound for a tiny portable speaker.

I had to turn the volume down to a more manageable level, and still the sound was nice, clear and crisp. The bass was nice and deep, the details of music and spoken audio was clear. Even at it’s maximum volume, there was no cracking or struggling from this tiny device.

Opening up Spotify to try different genres of music to test the sound quality, and the Logitech X300 still didn’t disappoint.

From Top 40s to classical music to Country to Dance tunes, the Logitech X300 streamed music perfectly, with loud and clear sounds. Love it!

Logitech X300 - Phone call

With the pairing with my mobile phone, I managed to do a speaker call and the sounds was loud and clear on my side, and the caller on the other end can hear me very well, too. Handy and perfect for hands-free conference calls while you work.

Pricing and Availability

Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Stereo Speaker is available on sale, since 18 December 2014 through their authorised retailers at a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of RM 276.

In my review with the Logitech X300, I came out very impressed with this little speaker with an affordable price tag.

Although my desk is filled with wireless speakers from the inexpensive X-mini capsule to the pricier Jambox, I must say that this Logitech X300 leaves me very impressed indeed.

For a RM 276 price tag, I would certainly recommend this Logitech X300 to friends and families.

Whether you’re looking for a speaker to sit permanently on your desk to stream music and answer speaker phone calls, or you’re looking for a portable one to chill by the pool or at a barbecue party, this Logitech X300 does an exceptional job without breaking the bank.
