Samsung Galaxy Nexus out in Malaysia today

GALAXY Nexus Product Image (1)Today marks the much anticipated day for Android fanbois. Well, at least for me – Samsung Malaysia and Google have finally launched the World’s First Smartphone to Feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a HD Super AMOLED Display – Samsung Galaxy Nexus!!!

In case you’re unaware of this phone, or haven’t checked out my hands on preview of this phone from my last Samsung event here, Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a pure Google Android phone, being the first device to run Android 4.0 OS “Ice Cream Sandwich”.

Ever since I saw the phone previewed at the Google and Samsung’s Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 OS announced in October 2011 in Hong Kong, I have been anticipating the release here in Malaysia.

Here’s a quick run-down of the specs:-

  • 4.65” 1280 x 720 HD Super AMOLED
  • FIRST Android OS 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich OS device
  • Dual core 1.2GHz processor
  • 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1.3 megapixel front facing video call camera
  • 1GB of memory and 16GB internal storage space
  • Dimensions : 135.5 x 67.94 x 8.94mm
  • Weight : 135g

It is indeed a drool worthy phone, not that much bigger than the Samsung Galaxy S II in size (regardless of how big the screen size may seem from the spec sheet), amazingly thin and sturdy. Most importantly, you’d be the only few people in the world with the first pure Android ICS 4.0 OS.

Personally, I am fighting with my inner demons right about now, contemplating if I should run out and buy the phone now. *itchy fingers*

Are you excited about the phone? Planning to get it or already got the Samsung Galaxy Nexus grey import / AP model or going to get it this weekend?
