Happy New Year 2012, everyone!
I know I haven’t been updating the blog in awhile. No, I wasn’t away for holidays. Neither was I caught up with work or personal commitments. I was just enjoying the year end break like everyone else. And I feel great after the rejuvenation – not that I really needed it.
Before I embark on new blog posts and new updates for 2012, I want to take this time to look back at 2011 with a highlight post of my best and favourite work in 2011 across any topics here on WinnieKepala.com.
This has got to be my favourite device this year. If you haven’t heard, Samsung even recently announced that they have sold over 1 million Galaxy Note to date worldwide. And the device is not even out in US yet.
I was thankful for the PR, Marketing and Media companies of Samsung Malaysia to get a review unit for a First Impressions video, invited to the Galaxy Note World Tour for SEA in Jakarta and do my full review of the device.
I have a lot of friends (iPhone users included) who have jumped ship over to Android with this Samsung Galaxy Note. I personally also really like this device, although I was skeptical on its size at first. Go ahead and check out my review.
When I got the invite to attend the Malaysian launch of the nation’s first Ultrabook, I was giddy with excitement. I knew that I was waiting for the Ultrabooks to hit our shores and possibly get one for myself.
Personally, I have been a fan of Acer laptops. Although some might disagree, but I’ve personally not had any problems with the hardware or the customer service.
Acer Aspire S3 is indeed (in my opinion) the best affordable Ultrabook you can buy today with their entry level Hard Disk Drive (HDD) model selling for RM 2,599 today. The other Ultrabooks from other manufacturers are Solid State Drive (SSD) storage and starts from around RM 3,299 onwards, with some selling as high as RM 4,999.
Check out my attendance to the launch with pictures and hands-on of the Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook here. I am using the Ultrabook as my personal primary laptop now – which I promise to do a review sometime soon.
Porn Stars Autobiographies – Jenna Jameson and Ron Jeremy
As I mentioned in the post itself, I DON’T WATCH PORN. I have seen some clips, but I’m by no means a fan or a regular viewer.
I am, however, constantly fascinated with colourful personalities. I like people watching, in general and always curious about human behaviour and psychology.
How colourfully interesting can your life be if you are a porn star? I read the Jenna Jameson (female adult actress) book first and thought I needed to balance it out with a Ron Jeremy (male adult actor) point of view. I was not disappointed.
Read about my review on both these books. They are indeed good reads, which I recommend you pick up too if you’re into autobiographies.
After the success and virality of my Celebrity Look-Alike post, I decided to follow that up with another crazy celebrity post.
This post was written almost right after the announcement of reality star, Kim Kardashian’s engagement to basketballer, Kris Humphries. Her massive engagement ring was in the news everywhere.
Forget about the fact that she had a massive televised wedding extravaganza, followed by a much criticized public divorce 72 days after. Don’t get me started on that now.
I researched the Net and rounded up a Top 10 list of the craziest HUMONGOUS engagement rings that the crazy Hollyweird money can buy. This post is not meant to get the ladies to drool and dream, it’s meant to shock and awe. So, don’t worry, guys – I think.
Look at all the money these celebrities have to spare when you see how ridiculous some of these rocks are.
I am happy once again that I got to organise and host my 2nd Annual Halloween Costume Party in Havana, KL.
2 years ago, costume parties in KL are almost non-existent. Now, every club in KL are having some form of dress up parties. I feel honoured in a way that my original 1st Halloween party in 2010 was so successful that I’ve inspired copycats.
This year, a lot more people turned up for the event. It was AN OPEN PARTY anyways. A lot more effort was put into the costume ideas and preparation – there were many creative ones among you. The prize is up to RM 1000 cash for Best Dressed. The music was pumpin’ and the performances was jaw dropping.
It was a hectic month of planning and night of co-coordinating but I was super happy with the outcome.
I am convinced again, that I will be hosting the 3rd Annual Halloween Costume Party this year in 2012 and I know some people are already planning their outfits. I smile from ear-to-ear every time I think of this party and the tradition that I will be setting here in KL.
Check out this post for this year’s cool costumes and pictures.
Sydney Trip – Sights, Ferry Ride, Seafood and Celebrity Sighting
It’s my first trip to Sydney, Australia. Although I’ve been to Australia before, it was a good break for me as I tag along to my husband’s business trip and get to roam the city alone with my new DSLR.
I had just recently started learning photography and was experimenting with my gear and my skills. I look back at the pictures now and I learn from the mistakes then and continue to improve.
I am thankful for all my professional photographer friends for help, tips and critique on my work. I still have a lot to learn – although I willl forever be a hobbyist and enthusiast, with no plans on becoming a pro-photog.
So these posts are more of a series of photography (practicing) posts, along with a travel journal about Sydney and all I love about it.
It doesn’t hurt as well that I got to bump into a celebrity when I was there. Hehe.
So, there you have it – a list of 6 of my favourite posts in 2011 across all topics from Tech and Gadgets, Celebrity Gossip, Book Reviews and Personal Hobbies.
Let me know what kind of topics or posts you liked to read on my blog? Which one of these were your favourite posts?
